Lt. Governor John A. Sanchez

John Sanchez was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and can trace his public service roots to his great, great grandfather who was a territorial legislator from San Miguel County, in 1860. John was elected to the office of Councilman for the Village of Los Ranchos, NM in 1997, and served in the New Mexico House of Representatives from 2000 to 2002. In 2005, John was recognized as one of the Top 40 Most Influential Hispanics in the Country. John has had diverse business interests, and maintained a New Mexico real estate license for over 20 years. John and his wife Debra, are the proud parents of two grown daughters, and reside in Albuquerque.

As Lt. Governor, John Sanchez will advocate for job creation, economic development, private sector growth and fairness in the state regulatory process. His significant business background, hands on management experience and genuine pro-business enthusiasm, has prepared him for the challenge of promoting positive growth of the economy in New Mexico.
